1965
Dr. Alhajj Abdul Khalek Bhuiyan
Dr. Alhajj Abdul Khalek Bhuiyan was a well-known physician who began his career in the field of medicine.
1975
Bicycle Spoke Manufacturing
Dr. Alhajj Abdul Khalek Bhuiyan put his first step in the manufacturing industry by establishing Meghna Cycle Industries Ltd in 1974, producing bicycle spokes, mudguards and frames, with a total of 12 employees and a 7,000 square feet factory.
1986
Mizanur Rahman Bhuiyan Took Over
Mizanur Rahman Bhuiyan, eldest son of Dr. Alhajj Abdul Khalek Bhuiyan took over the business at the age of 18 after his passing away.
1993
Entering Local Bicycle Market
Bangladesh Cycle Industries Ltd was a defunct government-owned bicycle manufacturer purchased by Meghna in 1993.
1997
Bicycle Production Started
With renovations and the best machinery from Taiwan & Japan, state of art bicycle manufacturing started in Bangladesh cycle industries ltd. to serve the local market. Concerned personnel from Meghna started attending international bicycle fests like Taipei cycle show, Euro bike show, Interbike International Bicycle Expo etc.
1999
First Export to Europe
Meghna began exporting bicycles to Europe for the first time in Bangladesh, with particular gratitude to the European Union for their cooperation.
2007
Market Expansion
Meghna began supplying bicycles to one of the oldest British bicycle manufacturers.
2011
Inauguration of Cyclelife Exlusive
Meghna launched CycleLife Exclusive, the first premium bicycle store in Bangladesh, to supply European standard premium bicycles in the local market.
2012
Launch of Veloce Bicycles
Meghna launched their own premium bicycle brand Veloce Bicycles to fulfill people’s dream. Besides they also started expanding their business to Scandinavian countries.
2018
Join-venture with Cube Bikes
Meghna started business with a renowned German brand Cube Bikes. They launched a joint venture assembling unit in Bangladesh with three existing units. A specialized German team from Cube Bikes is also working to produce the best quality products.
2019
Foundation of AlCa Industries Ltd.
Cube Bikes felt they need high-quality aluminum frame and they expressed their desire to Meghna Corporation. Alca Industries Ltd. was founded with this purpose in mind. Experts with a decade of experience from Taiwan and China are working here with the team.
2020
Carbon Fiber Frame Manufacturing
Meghna started a Carbon Fiber bicycle frame manufacturing unit with Taiwan’s best frame manufacturing company.
Decades of Experience
The company has been exposed to the bicycle industry for the past 40 years, producing bicycle parts, and the vast experiences in the field created a foundation for the manufacturing facilities of complete bicycles.
